Times change and so does dental care. Our signature extra-gentle cleanings combine a light touch with the newest and best LED illuminated ultrasonic tips. Our cleanings are much more comfortable and last only 1/3 to 1/2 the time of a traditional hand-scraped cleaning. Welcome to the 21st Century!

Anxiety Free Dental Care

We recognize that not everyone is as excited about dentistry as we are. Sometimes people are afraid of visiting us. This hurts our feelings. But, we offer a solution; We combine a gentle hand with the newest technology to create a positive and pain-free visit.

We are kind and relaxed. We don’t scold our patients for not flossing. We play relaxing music and offer our patients iPods with a variety of playlists.

For our patients who need more than a kind word, we offer Nitrous Oxide and can prescribe anti-anxiety medication where appropriate.

Oral Cancer Screening

Oral cancer claims approximately one life every hour in the United States, and a third of all people diagnosed for oral cancer have no known risk factors. As a routine part of our comprehensive dental exam we closely look for detectable signs of oral cancer.

Our practice also offers the ViziLite Plus

test to ensure that our patients receive the most comprehensive oral cancer examination possible. This test is a simple, painless and non-invasive technology that significantly improves our ability to see and monitor suspicious areas at their earliest stages, before they can progress to something far more serious and potentially life-threatening.

We recommend the test annually for those individuals with a higher known risk factor, such as moderate smoking, alcohol consumption, and age greater than 55. The test is recommended every three years for those without known risk factors.

TMJ & TMD Screening

The TMJ, or temperomandibular joint, is the most complex joint in the human body. TMJ related issues can cause joint pain, muscle pain, and headaches. Distinguishing between these many factors and correctly diagnosing the problem takes two things Dr. Plitt has plenty of: patience and experience. Our patients are continually amazed at how simply, conservatively, & inexpensively we can help alleviate years of migraine headaches, muscle pain, and jaw pain.
